It sounds like alot of fun Tom...But no not Scotish and dont know if any of the Irish Pubs might celebrate it in our area..I do love the music!

Me, too Doreen. I did see some kids with pipes walking through a hotel yesterday, which was random at the time, Tom, but not so much now.

Well I have not heard of bard's day. First of all what is a bard. What is a tartan and haggis. Since I am half Polish we like to celebrate too. Let me know and we will add it to our polka dances on Sat. night. After all my parents wedding lasted three days.

The last Robert Burns day I attended was at a church in the early 80's, I well remember the Ode to the Haggis, and I am one of those that does like Haggis.

dotcom, it is a celebration of Robert Burns, the best known Scottish poet. It is just another reason for us old Scottish "ethnics" to have a good time together. Tartans are the plaided material we dress up in. Each "Clan" has it's own distinct pattern. It goes way back. A 'haggis' is a special Scottish food, which is complicated to describe. It is definitely an "acquired taste". And it does taste better than the description. (wink)
