Actually Jaki and I both were checking in, but we checked in on last week's update. Whoops. Now you'll have to backtrack if you really want to see the illuminating and evocative comments we made... (but then, don't even spend the energy looking...)

I thought about checking in when I woke up at 4:30, but the possibility of actually sleeping in vetoed that idea.

Today will be the usual Sunday schedule around here--Sunday School, church, lunch with church friends, then I'll try to get laundry and dishes done, and buy groceries (all the things I should do on Saturday but never manage to do). I may watch bits of "The Game", mostly so I can catch the commercials.

The start of a new week--new opportunities and a chance to start over refreshed and ready for whatever life throws our way. Here's hoping you all are up to those challenges, with a little help from your friends here!

Good Morning

My Mom and Dad are at church, the first time my Dad has gone in about 1 1/2 years. I guess they are staying there for lunch, my Mom had to make a pot of chili to take to church. They are having a lunch at church, that is all SuperBowl types of food. So that after church everyone can eat, and then go home and watch the game. I told my Mom that then they'll go home and eat even more SuperBowl food. I might turn on the tv just to try and catch the commercials, even though I know they'll be on the web very quickly, that's how I saw last year's.

Good morning Checking In For The Day friends. Echoing Gayle's sentiments and may you all have a blessed week.

Woke up to enough snow that you can't tell where the road is today. Wish they'd cancel church. (OOPS! Did I actually SAY what I was thinking? lol) In a rural area like we are in, the snow tends to drift more and it really is stupid to go out if you don't have to. The newspaper had a front page article just last week about the "logic" behind why our county's highway district does not plow the roads--then we had a nasty storm and they actually did rev up the snow plows. This storm will equal or surpass that one so they'll probably have to spend some more of our tax dollars on clearning the roads. Personally, I'd be content to just stay cozy in the house. I doubt if my husband will feel that way though--he is funny about "making appearances". "The family needs to be represented..." Baloney!

I suppose today will be a good day to do homework. Last semester was so much more interesting with the classes I had than I am finding this semester to be. It is a struggle to make myself hit the books.

Alas, the satellite tv is out today which will eliminate any good movies I might have been distracted by so there is a good chance I'll crack the books.

Just to finish the thought I was having on the wrong week because... oh the heck with it.

Froggy made me his Air Force breakfast of three eggs over, hammity-ham, muffin with jammmmmm, yummmmm. It was so much better cooked via the internet by someone else. Much better than my half-stale bagel with butter and cinnamon.

Tincture of coffee applied to belly. Need some OJ. Getting, up, going, to, fridge.

Little white lintball dog decided my oriental carpet was her bathroom again, after going out THREE TIMES this morning she made a HUGE mess just before I was going to jump in the shower to get to mass this morning.... GRRRR!!! I missed mass, hence, she out in yard until further notice. It ain't cold, gonna be 65 or so today.

now that Zyrtek is over the counter, I am trying it instead of my very expensive prescription that I can't afford any more. Anyone else try it? This is my first day trying it. Letcha know if it works well. I neglected to get the one with the decongestant in it, as I am trying to kick the Pseudofedrine habit. Just got the plain one, so if I am still stuffy, I will get the other one on Friday and switch.

No other big news today. Wonder who gonna win da big game today????

I forgot to mention here in Canada they do this football feast thing twice each year, the Superbowl and the Grey Cup.
