They were Match Doctor and E-Harmony.

Yep, have two successful stories of ladies I met and had wonderful relationships with. I also met many (maybe a hundred?) lovely ladies thru the contact sites, many of which, I still am connected to today. We email, inquire, and often meet, but they were not my type or me, theirs. We still continue to network and remain close confidants though.....why??? because our meeting and our relationship was based on the truth, honesty and sincerity - I was not out to notch a bedpost and neither were they. I respected all of them. As busy professionals we had no other way to expose ourselves or find a smorgasboard of available singles.
yes....I always have a story....I met 4 nice men in yahoo personals before they started charging for a membership....I can say they all worked out in one way or another.I dated one seriously for a year until he got a job in Germany ...we still are in contact with each other....The other 2 are still very close friends and we talk every week...Their friendship has been very important to me....I think staying friends is better then to have dated had a relationship and only to have broken up never to talk again.

Whatever works for you. But Yahoo has been charging for years. What is today's news?
I met someone nearly 8 months ago on Match.com. We are still dating (although not exclusively - by his choice), but we have also grown to be good friends. I know he is one rare find because he has yet to introduce sex, rather we are taking things slow and letting thing develop over time. We are both in our 40's and have never been married.
I admit I went through a lot of losers before finding a true gentleman.

Recall, where there is a will there is a way.....I never paid for any site. People get creative and create work arounds to make the contacts.....like embedded codes in profiles....creating screennames and yahoo accounts in that name......writing out meet me at the "Y" or adding "dot com". The filters can't keep up and they can't hire enough people to read all the traffic. Occasionally you get caught, you either update profiles or create new ones. And for those who have paid they can contact non-payers and reveal where to meet outside the sites.....get with the program man....:):)

Hi
Note Match Doctor is a free site. Although site isn't really good for me anymore. Next to none women within my category. E-Harmony gave me limited free excess over a weekend when I made connection. Plenty of Fish is free, too.

I look for quality, not quantity. I never made the initial contact either. I made plenty of friends on those sites and we still communicate to this day - probably because I was honest looking for a friend first, lover second.....not one nighters.
