Define equal.

Must admit, I'm waiting for a reply on this one myself. Today's equal is not the same as yesterdays "I'll take care of you baby". We all bring different things to the table these days. Women now are as financially stable as men. Can be somewhat intimidating....would you consider that an equal playing field in a mate, if you were a male. Could you tolerate a woman that was more financially secure then a man? Some men have real issues with this issue. I am presenting this opinion based on the question being that of fiscal equalility. Spiritual and emotional equality comes under different tag lines than just equality...

So you find poverty appealing? Depression? Stupidity? Why would you not want an equal? Isn't that the meaning of "mate"?

From my personal experience, not being equal partners can lead to major problems.

How would you define it in a relationship? Would you as a woman want to be an equal partner? Maybe you would want to be taken care of and the major decisions made by your partner? Maybe in some areas of a relationship you would be the decision maker?

During my marriage my wife always earned more than me. I had no problem with it. We split expenses I handled all the home expenses. She covered things relating to her car and anything special she wanted. Infact, I would help her out. But during times when I was layed off. She handled just about everything.I believe this is an area where both parties have to work out ahead of time.
