How much do you rely on your gut instinct when online dating?

There have been a lot of threads about the "checklists" we go through in looking for a mate. But how much do you rely on your gut, or intuition, or whatever you want to call it, when meeting and dating a new person?

I've been emailing someone for a few days who seems more instinctively "right" than some of the others I've met (in person and online). I have a good feeling but being battle-weary I'm a little afraid to trust my instincts. He lives quite a bit farther away than I'm used to, but having just read through the "How Far would you Travel" thread I'm trying to be more open about that.

So ... how much of your instinct goes into your dating decision-making?

Totally...my instincts have saved my ass numerous times...I will always go with my gut instincts.

I mix logic with instinct, both on and offline.

Being an ENFP, you should know the answer. Your intuition should win out. Double check with logic, though

You know I always thought I had the best "gut instincts" on the planet. Seems like I can read people online and off. BUT, the last guy I met online had me fooled. If I really think about it though there were little signs.....things said that were too good to be true for example. Maybe I just wanted it all to be true. Dam, he was so good looking, and so romantic. Be battle-weary. Our instincts don't always work. I wish they did.

Darlin', for me it's 10% head and 90% gut ... of course, that's about the way I do everything. I trust my intuition tremendously.
