The public library where I work is LOOKING for new ideas to serve the tidal wave of boomers about to pour through the library doors. It would help to hear what library services would be most useful, enjoyed, helpful.
A few libraries have dedicated "Senior Spaces" where they focus large print books, adaptive equipment, computer stations that highlight senior-interest websites (like this one!). They offer technology training classes, book discussion groups, coffee-and-conversation times, and comfortable chairs that invite lingering and chatting with others.
Please help! Think out of the box...what would make a library space devoted to the needs of seniors really kick?
