Those were good days. When I get depressed I watch a movie called Flashback with Dennis Hopper and Kiefer Sutherland. The days are over, but I keep hoping. That film made me laugh so hard! See it if you get a chance.
Don't stop here DeeD write a book about the 60's. It would make great reading. I will watch for it.
We had our own place, a street called Paseo, very rock n roll, artsy, great head shop. The live music was just SO good then...real rock that made you feel fed.
I lived on 2nd street in Rock Island Illinois and would sit all night on the roof with my radio and listen to a station out of Little Rock Arkansas. They would play entire albums straight through, no interruptions. One night in 69 they played the Beatles White Album, all four sides, and my life changed.
I went to the record shop (remember those?) the next day to order it but it hadn't been released yet or the guy didn't know anything about it but I ordered it anyway.
I lip synced 'Martha My Dear' and 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' for an english class assignment and directed a stage performance of Rocky Raccoon.
You're right about stopping before the book gets written. lol

67' to 69'- Political movements that made you feel change really could happen, social changes that did happen. If I don't stop right now this will turn into a book.

Yup '67 to '69 for me ...Spent one summer in Europe and then the next at the Chicago Democratic convention, heading for Woodstock (and not making it due to car trouble) and going to 3 day rock festivals in Wisconsin and California. Loved it all....the people I met along the way were so fluid in thought word and deed....sorta like small town folk mentality. If I could go back in time I would ...and I wouldn't necessarily change a thing. Many lessons learned.
