Did you go to the World's Fair held in Flushing?
What do you remember about it?

My band, The Torquéys, played there at the New York State pavilion. We didn't make that much but the exposure was great and we got free passes. I sure took advantage of it!!
I remember in the Ford pavilion you went through the exibit on a sort of slow roller coaster ride but the cars were the new Ford comets I think. Thought that was cool. And I remember that coke introduced their first sugar free drink Fresca and were giving it away free. Don't know why that sticks out but it does
I remember taking the train in from the Island a few times. I don't have any specific memories of the various exhibits.
I remember the Ford pavilion too. I'm toldl that it is still running at Disney Land. But I haven't been there to say I've seen it.
I remember the big globe & lots of fountains.
I was 12 yrs old and I remember the push button phones they had set up there that you could use. I thought that was so cool. lol I also remember the ride to the future but can't remember who sponsored that. I lived in Queens back then.

Wow. Thats right. Thats so cool. I forgot how big a deal it was when we got touch tone phones. I never wanted to see a rotory dial phone again.
Now I think rotary dial phones are nostalgic and I wish I had one.
