Second Amendment:
Right to keep and bear arms.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The Supreme Court is taking up this issue in March and should decide the "verdict" by June. The suit about guns being banned in Wash DC is the focal point of the arguments. The plaintiffs have worded the suit in such a manner, that the Supreme Court will have to decide about "the right of the People to keep and bear Arms" in order to rule on the issue in DC.
IMO and I am no "legal beagle" .. this amendment has two parts.
- States can maintain a well regulated Militia to provide security for the State and
- People can keep and bear arms
One is not dependent on the other but because they are joined at the hip by the word "regulated" ..that gun ownership will get a serious overhaul with regulation at the national level. However, we will not loose our right to own a gun.
It will be interesting to see what happens.
What do you think ..?

Take my Guns
Over my dead body you varmitt
