Wisdom comes from..........?

Any takers on this question (and let's try to limit our responses to one line if possible)?

I believe that wisdom comes from a place within us that is far removed from ego centered desires and experiences; a place where lessons of loss, success, pain and joy have been absorbed and understood fully.

The first step to being wise is to have proper awe and reverence for God, then to trust him with one's life.

When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge. Proverbs 21:11

Ok I'll give it a stab.

IMHO one first needs knowledge, then one needs understanding. After one has both in abundant supply it might be possible to gain wisdom.

A dear departed friend shared a prayer which I try to offer often for all my loved ones:

"May you be Happy, Healthy, Wise and Wealthy...and in that order."

My reply is a combination of some of the preceeding responses.

Wisdom is the ability to examine and improve your life by examining (on a higher level) mistakes (cause and effect of these mistakes) and successes(cause and effect of success). There is also a part of it that comes from what Jung called the "collective unconscious". That means that mankind has a kind of consciousness that is "connected" on some level to the energy of others who are living, those who have lived and those who will live on this planet and maybe others.
