Regardless of your belief system, if you ask "Why" or to be "Shown" with sincerity and perseverence, you will not be ignored.

Asking 'why' is certainly a great way of discovering purpose. We can also create the 'why' by becoming clear about our values. Being clear on our values implies that we can consciously direct our intention, hence our destiny.

So, let's say you have an intention to live an awakened life. A great intention indeed, but without a structure of values to support major decisions, your objective will never manifest.

Here is a simple exercise in creating 'why'.

1. List 4-8 major Life Components (such as, Work, Family, Friends, Spirituality, and so on).

2. List the values you associate with each Life Component (For instance, the Life Component of Work may offer evidence to satisfy such values as money, power, security, and so on.)

3. When you have listed 3 or 4 values within each of your Life Components, order the values by importance, putting the most important value at the top of each list.

4. Since we value what is important to us, now make one master list of your values by combining all of your values from each of your Life Components into an umbrella group call 'My Destiny' or 'My Why'.

5. Which value is first?

6. If there seems to be instability at the top of this single list of values, your 'why' may also be unstable.

Values are core psychological structures by which all major decisions are made and, as such, they greatly influence your world. Inherited or conditioned values are sufficient for a successful material life; however, they cannot guide your intention to be free. No matter how hard you try, you can never "decide away" unnecessary suffering from within conditioned

value structures.
