My dear friends who travel these paths...
I want to let you know up front this is not going to fit in the realm of our usual philosophical discourse. We talk a lot here about spirituality and although we seem to be swimming in different parts of the same stream I believe that underneath it all is a desire in each of us to somehow help to make a better world. I'm hoping that a part of each of our spiritual endeavors includes a deep caring about the health and welfare of our planet. It is of course what sustains us. If it goes than none of us will be here to debate or discuss God. consciousness or (in difference to Spiritrider), the Hokey Pokey. There was an article in the Los Angeles times yesterday about ways to cut our energy bills...and it had nothing to do with green technology. Have you noticed in some newer appliances how a light goes on when you turn something off to let you know it's off. I'd loved to have been in with the minds that came up with that one. The point being that with things like this all over the country the energy they use starts to add up. So here's what the times recommended: Unplug all of the things that do that. Even when things like televisions are off there is still some minor electictriciy flowing. Unplug every thing you can. Stop leaving computers on. Unplug anything with a clock on it that you don't absolutely need. Things that charge other things use a lot of wattage. Unplug them when you aren't using them. Be more attentive to lights on when they are not needed...the Times said that if we just did these simple things it would be like taking several million cars off the road vis-a-vis energy consumption. I'm sure we all recognize that there are a number of businesses that at present control a large part of the worlds wealth and who would like nothing better than to see the do-re-mi continue to flow in their direction by our energy wasteful ways with absolutely no regard for the planets well being. We may be the only power that can stop them. They say that every storm begins with but a single drop of rain. Perhaps we can be that drop. any other helpful hints would be appreciated. Please pass this information on to firends and family and please pardon the length of this plea for help.
warmly,
Kenny
