I suggest that you go back and read some of the posts here in this group for background. They are timeless and will give you some understanding of many of the people in this group rather than them having to tell their stories all over again. Then jump in. The water is warm and the currents are smooth!

How are you doing? I am ladybugg69125 and I know all too well the effects of depression. It is an on going battle. I have learned instead of living one day at a time, I have to live one minute at a time, because I never know what I am going to have to face. I can go from being high as a kite{ on life} to crying my eyes out, and then being the maddest person, alive. I absolutely hate this ride, but I know it's a part of my life that isn't going anywhere--anytime soon. Basically, I have dealt with depression for around 25 years. So, I know the ups and the downs. I know when there coming and still don't have the, when are they leaving,down yet, but I am not giving up. I tried that also, not a good choice. I ended up in the hospital, being watched like a hawk, my shoestrings took away from me, my bath's were timed, and had to be watched when I ate and took my medicine. I felt like a little kid in a grown ups body. Not cool at all. I hope I haven't brought you down, but telling you what I have experienced is one way of venting for me, but also is a way for me to let you know, I really have dealt with depression, and not just leading you on to believe that I understand. You now know that--I do really understand. I don't know if you have met up with those kind of people, but I have. I can't stand for someone to tell me they understand what I am going through or they understand what I have been through, when in fact, they don't. I know that some are just being supportive or showing they care. But, it really burns me up to hear it from someone who doesn't really care about me or my depression. Then turns it around on me and uses it to their advantage.

I hope and pray you haven't and won't meet up with those kind of folks, because it is very disappointing in the long run. Well, I am truly here for you or anyone else that needs my love, care and understanding or just need me here to be vented upon. I hope I haven't scared you or anyone else, but, to me, depression, is a scary thing to deal with. Especially--Alone. Please don't do that, talk to someone,

I am basically happy, and have a wonderful husband but I need friends and a sense of belonging. I've moved around a lot in my life.

Well, Gail Marie, you have come to the right place. There are tons and tons of friends on this site just waiting to talk to you. I am only one of a ton and I am here for you. If you want or need someone to talk to --about .............well just about, anything..........you let know. If I can't talk to you about a certain topic, I bet I can find you someone who can. Every topic under the sun is right here.

I am here also for anyone who needs to talk. I have been battling depression, anxiety and bi-polar for about 5 years. I didn't want to go on medication for it at first but eventually I did. Some days it helps, some days it doesn't. When I was first diagnosed with it, I was embarrassed and didn't want to tell anyone. Without my knowledge, my husband took care of that for me. Since then I have found that there are millions of people who suffer from it and it is nothing to be ashamed about. I recently discovered that about 70% of the woman in my church have it.

I understand the ups and downs of it and at times I just want to run away thinking that if I do it will stay here. But it follows me where ever I go. Mine was brought on by work related stress and I had to eventually go on disability because of it. I also suffer from agoraphobia which doesn't really help the situation.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that anytime you need to talk you can send me a personal message or do a posting. I check in every couple of days.
