This is a sad discussion/question:
Where or how do you determine when it is time to put your cat down?
He's not old, He is six and psychotic and unpredictably mean. And he weighs 20 pounds. He's not fat. Just a large Maine Coon. When he flips out or is being mean, he bites. Hard. He is also manipulative to the point that other cat and animal lovers have declared he has an evil streak.
I cannot have a sitter when I travel. I cannot find a home for him: no one will take him.
He's righteously beautiful and tries to get you to pet him. Then he turns on you. He doesn't know how to play. Never has. He either just watches or if he participates, he turns mean within seconds.
When he's not being evil, he is very intelligent and beautiful to look at.
I don't want suggestions as to how to fix him. Been there, been doing that for six years. My most recent and last attempt to improve our existance was to bring in a healthy kitten. Now the kitten is being traumatized, and I fear for her mental health.
How can I do what I need to do? Without hating myself forever?
