Whitney takes baths. Doesn't mind it a bit as long as the water is the right temperature. If I give the Big Dog a bath, she will come in the bathroom and hop in the tub with him, no problem.

Perhaps this is because she had no Mother Cat to care for her, she was so small when I got her, she had not learned to wash herself yet, so I had to do it. Just dont put her under running water, she hates that.

She is happy to get in the tub, tummy deep warm water, to wash her "whites" all by herself. Stands and picks up one paw at a time and shakes it, puts it back in the water. Picks up the next paw and shakes it, puts it back. And so on until all four are done.

She will let me wash her entire being with a wash cloth. Use a wet wash cloth, and put your finger in it and go with the direction of the fur. The vet says it imitates the feel of the mother's tongue. She lets me wash ears, mouth, and all.

She is my only cat ever. I guess I did something right, she's 10 now. She pushes the three dogs around too... she's bigger than one of them at 14.5 lbs! And my pit bull is afraid of her. Go figure....

i think 'bump' is the best cat name i've ever heard!

Thanks, we rescued them four months ago now. They were 3-years old and left on the doorstep of the shelter in their carrier. Their original names (as assigned by the shelter) were Kevin and Kervey. (Very Welsh names and not doing it for us I'm afraid.)

Bump has a small non-malignant growth above one eye that pushes outward and it looks like he had a bit too much to drink (also very Welsh) and bumped his forehead. He also bumps into things at full gallop with the more speedy and lithe brother Bob leading the way.

They are very cool boys and bump likes the space behind my knees for curling into a ball and sleeping... great fr windy cold night like this...

Out of 11 cats, I've had 2 that love water and will sit at the bathroom sink or tub and cry for the water to be turned on so they can drink/play with it.

One of my cats used to sit in the tub while I took a shower!

my cat nick loves the water. he 'helps' me do the dishes. i can run the sprayer on his head when he is in the way and he is undaunted. he has helped me enough times he should just do the dishes for me. but, no.

the other cat topaz likes water too but does not like to get wet. he stays in the bathroom with me when i take a bath and tries to drink the water. he hops in the tub after i get out of the shower and laps up the water. his favorite thing is to sit at the faucet and play with a drip.

the rest of the cats have no interest in water. except as a matter of thirst. (^.^)
