Many of the things people would like to change in the new year are truly heart-felt and well-intentioned, but there's a strong tendency to not follow through with these desires for numbers of reasons.
I have found that what people are looking for most in their lives is peace of mind. And you have the greatest peace of mind when you're doing what brings you the greatest joy and meaning. Please consider this in making your resolutions. Take time to identify your real interests, needs, and values. Then live them. Make time daily to do what brings you enthusiasm for life.
Because of my background in psychology, I am especially aware of the power of the mind, and how it can be used to accomplish seemingly limitless possibilities. Your every thought and feeling affect your health and work to create your life circumstances. That's where you can use self-hypnosis and guided imagery to help you purposefully achieve your resolutions.
You can sit down, imagine yourself relaxed in some way (like on vacation at the beach), and then imagine what you want. See and feel yourself happy and healthy, or whatever are your resolutions.
You might also want to think about whether you're focused on what you want, or what you don't want. The universe reflects your every thought and feeling. With a little discipline, you have the power of your mind to change your life dramatically.
Happy new year, Dean
