Yes, it's me - again. I swear I've had every symptom in the book. This happened to me early in perimenopause. I was able to stop it by using soy. I used Revival products because they contain the amount recommended by Christine Northup in her book and it's very hard to get the amount of isoflavones required from eating or drinking other soy products.

Once it stopped, my hair returned to close its usual state and has stayed there, even though I'm off the soy.

I used these products for a while and while the bars were kind of expensive, I liked them and ate them daily. However, the accompanying flatulence was overwhelming! (Does the term 'dragon-farts' mean anything to you?) So, combined with the cost and the gas (heehee..the cost of gas!), I just stopped. Do any of the other products cause this problem?

I used the shakes - they were slightly less expensive - and had a minor problem, but not really bad. It was worth it for me.

But if the amount of soy is what causes it, I bet you'd get the same response.

Why don't they make estrogen bars, like the oxygen ones that are around? We could just inhale deeply and be well. :-)

I went to my dermatologist, she did blood work and my iron was really really low. She thought that was part of the issue.

I went to the doctor and they did bloodwort. My doctor said it was from my thyroid that was off and she gave me medication to keep it under control! Now every change of season they check my levels again until they get the right dose of the synthroid. I think I shed my hair inbetween when it's time for the next exam and bloodwork. Have your dr. check you for your thyroid problems! Wish you luck

I was going to jump in and say "have you had any blood work done yet? I was thinking of thyroid.

Yes, I'm going through that right now. My hair is falling and it looks somewhat dry. I'm also in perimenopause. I have insomnia, hot flashes, irritability and hair loss. A couple of years ago, I was also on the bio-identical hormones. Started feeling pretty good the first week I began taking it, but my new doctor took me off because of my high-risk of breast cancer. My mother had breast cancer. I think that our hair will go back to mostly its normal state after our bodies gets over the current cycle of change that it's going through. Are you still on bio-identical hormones? So, what is a woman in perimenopause and high-risk suppose to do to prevent her transition of life from driving her insane, or worse? All my doctor advises me to do now is exercise and not to eat so much of salty foods, sugars, and fatty foods. Is anyone high-risk here? I would like to know what your doctor recommends.
