Men also have a 'stage' where their hormones are out of whack too - maybe not just as many body changes & symptoms as us. Most people, for men, call it a 'mid-life' crisis. I've talked to my hubby about it - he says, for him - a lot of it centers around his work. His body doesn't respond as well & as quick like it used to. Daily he comes across 'younger' people that are his bosses - in itself isn't the problem - but when they negate his years of work experience, he has a problem. The thought of retirement is close at hand - so all the issues around it - financial planning - what will he do with his time - he's been so used to a routine.

Sounds like I'm defending, really not, just presenting another side.

I'm a little confused, just re-read your post - you refer to him as your X - then say he doesn't like it when you're on the computer so much.

If you're involvement here is a good thing for you, I think that's good too. Everyone benefits from connecting, especially with others who share similar experiences.

Thanks for the mans side of mid life crisis, makes good sense! As for my X and we decided we still love each other, but he's NOT in love with me! Believe it or not, this is our way and it's working fine for now! Thanks for your input--I'm really enjoying this site!

That's wonderful that you've been able to work together like that. I suggested that to my parents when they decided to split after 35 years - they opted to divorce.

Deb, you read it right! My X and I live together. Sometimes its hard and we get on each others nerves but for the most part, He knows me and I know him. He doesnt want me on the computer because he thinks I'm looking around for a date! I I wouldnt want a date now or in the late future. I went around once and boy did I learn alot. I not ready to share my life with anyone but my 2 dogs---Foxy Cleopatra and Nippie Gidget! Once I learn to upload pictures, I will! Thanks for the input, it is greatly appreciated

Cute names for your four-legged companions - pretty unique - now when you call them, do you use the full names or a shortened version?

Whatever works for us as individuals is entirely up to us - no one else, as far as I'm concerned. I have people look at me rather strangely when they know my ex & I are friends - I even did his bookkeeping for a while - that really raised the brows.

I've noticed that having an identity crisis seems to be an ongoing process even when menopause is over and done with. Once many of the physical symptoms were no longer there, it seemed as if I've had more clarity about who I am and definitely more awareness of my mortality. There's no time like the present moment beause life is a gift and should not be wasted.

Question. Dose anyone know the age when menopause start? Can it start in your early fortys?
