I've never tried that, I'll look into it. I've tried Black Cohosh, didn't seem to help at all.

Black Cohosh upset my stomach!! Birth control pills seem to help somewhat for me with the hot flashes. I stopped taking a few months back for one month and decided to stay on them. I was having hot flashes at least 8-10 a day and at night!

Hot flashes, oh my gosh. When you have a young man come up to you and ask if you're ok, you know it's bad. I get so hot, sweat starts pouring down my face and body, I turn red as a beat and feel like I'm going to pass out. I had to do something. I found a book written by a doctor. I have loaned the book to a friend or I would be more specific. I also got one of Suzanne Summers books. I found a compounding pharm. on line. I emailed and they sent me a list of doctors that prescribe bio identical hormones. I found a doctor and went on biest. I also take DHEA, Pregnenolone, progesterone cream. At night I take meletonin. Good Day Pharm's. are compounding and some of their stores have programs to educate women on these things. Everything I take except the biest is over the counter and available at The Vitamin Shop and GNC. I just felt like I had to educate myself in order to make an informed decision as to my health. I don't think there is one answer fits all, but I hope this helps.

I have never heard of this! I am very Perimenopausal...You name it I have it! I have tried a lot things with no help. Right now I take Lexapro and a pile of vitamins..which really only helps with my moods...and nothing else. I so wish there was something to relieve this, every month, year after year..

I can't say I have 50 hot flashes a week, more like 10-25 ... and some weeks none, of course thats when I get my period, which isnt regular by no means. I would try ANYTHING, and let me know when you find out what this treatment is! Thanks..

There was a time, though that I too, was having "melt downs" every fifteen minutes. My grandmother, (God rest her soul) said to expect this for a few years:-o Then, a friend told me about soy milk. I bought some and started drinking a glass every night at bed time. Within a couple of weeks the hot flashes minimized, then quit all together. Now, after two years, if I start feeling "hot under the collar" I buy some more. Wal-Mart sells it. I like the low-cal Vanilla best!
