Interesting. I have had a quote from singer Margaret Young stuck on my wall for years and years that says exactly the same thing. Wish I had thought of a way to make money off of it. :->

Yes, its amazing how some people seem to have the ability to make money off of just about anything! Could you share that quote with us?
"Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so that they will be happier. The way it actually works is in reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want."

Thank you so much for posting this quote! I remember now reading it before. Im so happy that this process is available, especially when I feel like Im juggling multiple projects! Any more great quotes floating around out there that would be helpful for our group?

This is my new favorite. It really gives you a great perspective on adversity. :->
"The artist is extremely lucky who is presented with the worst possible ordeal which will not actually kill him. At that point he is in business."

Yes, the highs and the lows, one minute your loved and the next minute not. When I first started showing my work, I was terrified! I read quotes from other artists who described the first few times they showed their work, it was akin to torture, but eventually the process became easier. While Ive never considered showing my work as tortuous, I certainly have experienced the apprehension and excitement! I also find it gets a bit easier the more I do show, but there are always heightened challenges as well as demands. Ive often thought of my experience as an artist, and those of others. Truely the creation of art is a mysterious process in many ways, as well as the responses from others. I would like to share this quote from Michelangelo: "The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection". And: "The need to make art will be the one constant in your life as an artist: a deep connection with the art itself is the thing that will sustain you", Cay Lang.
Pretty good video.
Somebody said to me one time, a sculptor is someone who sculpts, not someone who talks about sculpting or reads books about sculpting, but someone who sculpts.
i try to do that. but i think i came away from that video with some stuff to think about.
thanks for posting it.
