Oh boy, have I got the book for you. Painting Beautiful Skin Tones with Color and Light, in oil, pastel and watercolor by Chris Saper. The whole book talks about light temperature and how it affects certain colors and she gives palettes she uses for all three mediums. It is delicious, I refer back to it all the time.

If I am working in acrylics, I like to use glaze medium for skin tones. Working the glazes over each other makes the flesh tones glow.

I use the usual ochres, siennas, whites, and cadmium reds for white skin. I think black skin is full of wonderful hues, but I haven't been able to do the darker, bluer tones of African skin successfully without getting muddy. Any suggestions?

She mentions colors for all skin tones. I cannot recommend it enough. I even looked into her workshops-too expensive, so I will have to stick to the poor man's workshop-books! :->
