You hear the usual....medical, teacher, law enforcement (buzz-killers), etc...but I am very surprised that with green energy being so in your face lately, more props aren't given to green jobs.
I started in wind energy for General Electric 3.5 years ago and have not made less than 100k/year since. I turn down at least one offer from another company per month and have rocketed up the food chain. (Started off as a commissioner, then Operations & Maintenance Lead, then technical instructor, then (now) Project Safety Manager.)
It's a very niche industry...everybody knows everybody else...but it's only going to keep growing by leaps & bounds.
If you have management experience, electro-mechanical experience, don't mind climbing 300 feet straight up a few times a day, don't mind heights (see picture) and can travel, it's not a bad gig....
and yes, they (everyone) are hiring!
