Hopefully, we will get more input that presently is mostly from single digits. Level two is not a ribbon you wear on your shirt. It is a workplace where you will take out only if you put in. It is like trying to learn to be a shortstop by watching Derek Jeeter. He will be in the hall of fame and you will still be sitting there not able to pick up a ground ball.

Writing is a participatory sport. It is also an individual sport and not a co-operative one. Chain stories are for level one. A hundred equally fun-seeking but not serious people add a line to a story that ends only when interest runs out. It has no relation to the tasks necessary to becoming a published writer. If Steven King and John Grisham were to ask me to join a chain story, I would respectfully refuse. I would learn nothing from the experience. Adding to someone else's work is like watching Derek Jeeter perform. You remain trapped at the level you were at before you wrote it.

Writing is risking what you write, allowing others to react to it and learning from their reactions. Some may not have anything to add but that is the price of admission for those that do. Your task, if you decide to take the job is to learn how to sort out the wheat from the chaff without overreacting to the chaff!
