I'm 47 but I was interested enough in what you wrote here to join your group anyway. I was trying to think of the name of Meetup a couple of days ago, because I've heard of it from other sources, and I think it could be a good resource for me. There are things I love to do, but the problem sometimes is finding someone to do them with.

Best example, kayaking. I love it - but I know several people who tell me they want nothing to do with "those tippy little boats."

Okay, good lord... you might have created a monster. Started looking around and found the expected things that I signed up for. Knitting? Check. Singles group? Check. Widow's group? Check.

At first, I hesitated to go unless I had someone to go with. After a few warm welcomes, I found that it's best to go and you'll make new friends who share your interests.

I'm going to be going to a bird photography meetup that leaves at 5:00 am! I've even offered to carpool in my van. Wouldn't have happened unless I just did it.

We have tribal bellydancing near me, too. If I didn't have a bad back, I'd be there. Do it!
