I think we all have some stories we keep in our pockets, to enlighten, motivate, educate our teams. We all loved stories as children, and hopefully, most of us still do now. They get our attention, they are better than a slide deck (much better) and tell us something in a memorable way.
What is your best story?
Is it about mistakes you have made? Or is it about triumphs?
This seems to be a trend in the management world, especially with the popularity of this book: http://www.amazon.com/Leaders-Guide-Storytelling-Mastering-Discipline/dp/078797675X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206466478&sr=8-4.
Your story can be just a few lines long--just tell us what you tell your teams.
