Gold did very well and it is also a currency dependent number. Because the US dollar fell sharply in value the 24% increase in gold in US dollars was very good but in the Euro zone it was only about a 9% rise.

Silver went up 14% over the year in dollar terms. Platinum also was in double digits but not as strong.

The real surpise metals were zinc, copper, lead, rhodium and palladium. These were off the charts in terms of price rises because thye are widely used and in shorter supply.

This is partly why churches are being raided and artifacts stolen, to be melted down and sold.

I know a local coin dealer. He has seen a raise in selling of gold and silver

jewelry by customers to him for the price of the metal. What are your gold price predictions for Dec. 2008?

Gold is at $944 per oz. Anyone following the price of gold.?

Gold is over $1,000 an oz. and silver is about $20 an oz. Any thoughts on the metals market?

Gold has taken a huge dip to the $915 range. Silver fell to about $17 per oz.

I say this is a lull before another run up. Look for gold to be at $1,000 soon.
