I know we can form groups,but here's one thing that might help

I said this in a discussion before and I'm going to suggest it here.I belong to several social networking sites.

You have the option in a group,for the creator of the group to approve you,I think the creator can look at your profile,posts and decide if they want you in their group that way.If you are not a member,you cannot even view the group.

Now,one advantage is,some are personal subjects,child abuse,people in recovery.

Others,just most likely want like minded people.There are very,very few of these groups.But for example if people want to be in a religious group and want discussions,but not debates,they can do that.

I do not see any issues with cliques.It can eliminate alot of "heat"

thanks, margevans, we have this capability in the works but it's taking a back seat to some other priorities at the moment. It will launch before winter :)

So, would this be just for "special" groups as margevans mentioned (e.g., child abuse, people in recover), or for every group?

What happens when someone is not "liked" by the person starting the thread (different politics, religion, etc). Wont' this be a turn off or turn out for many that don't care to be "weighed, measured, and found wanting?" Will we have a geek group, a beauty queen group, etc.? Just thoughts.

It will not be for every group.I am familiar with this,they have it on eons and on sisterwoman they used to have it.

A person who starts a group has the option to delete a post here.It's their group,they are the admin of that group.

What I've seen,for example,on sisterwoman, they had one for abuse as children,addictions.

I never set up a group myself like it,but have joined.

I'd have to check it here,but it may be here that you also as an admin may be able to boot someone as a member of that group.

Another example,here,if you are of one party or another,you'll be able to approve those who join.What does that mean,that could mean,that you want like minded members so that you discuss your views.

You still have the discussions here.You still have the other groups that don't have to have approval.

You could have a geek group or beauty group right now.There are really only a few groups on the sites that I'm talking about.

It's really no big deal
