I don't mind their being new groups starting all the time, but do we need them on the same topics? For instance, I started a group, accidentally, when I began "Practical Health Care". I really wanted it to go under a group that was already in existence, but somehow, instead of starting a new thread, I found myself being the administrator of a whole new group!! It's working out okay, however, because I just figured out a different focus for "my" group: illnesses & the health care system.
This morning I clicked on New groups and found that we now have a 19 y/o new member starting a whole New group entitled, "love to have sex", yet we have a whole group already set up on Sex. The next New group is for a new member who is over '50', but we've got an active group currently dealing with that exact issue. The third New group I came to was one focusing on "Dealing w/ Bi-polar & Diabetic Issues", which would go nicely under my new "Practical Health Care" group :). Then there is a new "Beauty, Health & Wellness" group, and is being administered by a Licensed Esthetician who has "great products" & has given us a personal website to go to (spamming? . . don't know), but we have a number of health groups already going. Maybe, like me, they found themselves confused over group vs. threads? Or perhaps they just wanted to be in charge of their own "group"? I'm more inclined to think it is the former, though.
If so, is there a way we can add a TBD tutorial or instructions on the use of Groups vs Discussions (aka threads)? I'd like to not have to repeat myself at different groups on the same topic, or having other members pulled to another group, because they didn't know which one to post to. I also don't think many threads can come out of these particular groups.
Or maybe It's just me??? LOL
