Others have suggested a 4:3 aspect ratio.

I just joined TBD a few weeks ago and uploaded my first photo a few minutes ago with no problems

Right now, TBD programming will only accept horizontal images -- no verticals (or verticals with the top and bottom cut off to then make them "horizontal"). Allegedly (this has been questioned before) the proverbial "they" will fix the horizontal/vertical problem in some future upgrade.

I'm not sure what's with the occasional blurred image image except to say it's the same effect one gets when a small image (pixel-wise) is enlarged... so the image is too small for the TBD format and gets enlarged to where it's blurry.

All the portrait mode pics I've uploaded get truncated top and bottom, no matter what size of original I send.

I experimented with a pic of a couple which had a lot of sky above and a lot of foreground. TBD cropped the top and the bottom as I had planned - as well as the heads and legs! Such a pity it was a good pic - it told a 1000 words!

When I upload a pic in landscape format, the whole image is shown - no cropping in any way.

As far as blurring is concerned, all the pics I have uploaded are as sharp as the originals. And I don't reduce them beforehand in any way - the system TBD uses seems to be able to cope with the pixel capacity admirably.

This might be my problem. When I reduce my pics, they're always proportional. I will try the 4:3 horizontal ratio to see what happens.

Too bad, I would loved to have seen the pic. As far as the blurring, it must be something I'm doing in Photoshop that's causing it because when I initially uploaded images, although cropped, they were clear. Once I reduce the image, the blurring occurred. Well, never claimed to be a Photoshop expert!! LOL

I would like to be able to link to images that I have on other sites like flickr or pbase. No download necessary, simply a link using bb code or HTML.

I'm having the same problem with image cropping top/bottom as Britscot. I'd like to post a few, but they are mostly worthless at these ridiculously low size restrictions. I don't expect the site to host big photos for everyone, but many of us have other sites we could link to for images and not cost TBD any storage problems. Simple HTML code for images, word emphasis, links, etc would be a welcome and needed addition IMO.

I was going to respond to a couple of threads in the Photography section, but it just isn't worthwhile under the current limitations.
