Louise, you are so right--dealing with death is a learning and living process and it can take a lifetime. We don't get over the loss of a loved one but we do learn to live with it. And thank goodness for the memories that do bring our loved ones back to us! How horrible it would be to really forget them. Not having lost a spouse, my understanding is not total but I think it is a compliment to the deceased spouse when the surviving spouse wants to marry again. They enjoyed their marriage enough that they want to be married again. Does that make sense?

If one has ever lost a loved one, they know that it is hard work to get through it. There is no magical thing that we can do. But life does go on and we do get through it if we work at it. And there are things that help. Like fresh air. Getting some sun , walking, talking about it. Good friends and family getting you out of the house. Surrounding yourself with positive people. Thinking about happy times with the person you lost. Is it easy? No, but life is not easy , and never was if you are honest. So you see, one can get through it if you make an effort. And it is an effort! Life is very short. we can't spend our time always looking back, or always feeling sad. There is a time for that too, but we must look forward and live our lives, not just exist. There are people out there that need us.
