Hi, my name is Sharon, I'm 48, and I'm new to TBD, so please be patient with me.
I wanted to ask someone or just maybe just talk to someone about my brother. He's 50 and has been in a nursing home for the last 4 years, he's almost totally deaf, Diabetes, Kidney failure, Severe hypertension, and has suffered from brittle bone disease most of his life, and is always in severe pain. He recently broke the same leg twice and now has metal rods holding what's left of his leg together, Oh yea, he, like me, has developed epilepsy in the last 5 years. He's also has severe depression. Every 3 weeks or so he ends up in the hospital with some major illness. Every time I go to see him, I think it's the last time. I was visiting him today, I was only there for 2 minutes and he asked me to go, he didn't feel good. I went and spoke to the nurses that I have become very good friends with, and was told he has lost a vast amount of weight, and is in critical condition, and it very well may be the last time I see him. His wife is mentally ill, and is in a world of her own, and thinks Peters' doing just fine.
I'm sorry I'm writing so much, I just so need a friend to talk to. I lost my mom and dad 15 and 25 years ago, that was so hard, But this. I suffer from depression, and haven't worked in 6 or 7 years. I feel so lost, so scared. I'm very close to him and he doesnt know or doesn't want to admit to his dying. If this is too much for this group, if I've written too much, tell me. I just so need some one to talk to. So, if you can bare my pain, as a shoulder for me to lean on, I thank you, if not, bye. Thank You Sharon
