My father's slowly losing it. He's now forgotten one of his favorite stories that he repeated many times (about the first time he convinced me to try sushi back in 1987). I prompted him for it last weekend and ended up telling it myself. He fiddles endlessly with his mail, hesitating to throw out advertisements and crap because he's not sure what they are. Every time I stop by he asks if I've met his nice neighbor Gene yet. Sigh. It's tough, and especially so because my mom passed away last month. She told me he was like this, but I didn't really believe her until I started seeing him several times a week and helping him.
I'm not ready for this yet.
