As typically happens this time of year, I'm back to knitting projects. I take on those with patterns simple enough that they lend themselves to being created while in conversation with others. If the pattern requires excessive row counting/stitch variation - no matter how beautiful or interesting - it is not for me! To support this goal I focus on choosing yarns with variation in texture and with variegated dye patterns. Natural dyes are preferable to synthetics.
Right now I'm (very slowly) working on a pair of handwarmers/ fingerless gloves that are beautiful! My goal is to get them finished while it's still cold enough to wear them. This is proving more difficult than I thought it would be.
I'm using size 4 needles which makes it slow going. The yarn is silk and I'm alternating 3 colors; chocolate brown, colonial blue, and a variegated blues/browns/creams.
I also have 2 other projects in the wings. A big tunic sweater - white mohair, and a red scarf.
