Well, I have 5 kids. Oldest in his last year of High School, youngest beginning Kindergarten.
Wow.
Strange array of emotions for me. I have custody of all my children. I have raised my youngest on my own since she was a baby. And we have had a rough time this summer. So now, here it is, her first day coming up and I see something I haven't noticed before in my baby: independence.
She's not afraid, not even nervous. She has been reassuring me! And even though I have 4 who went through this before her, this is hitting me the hardest and I don't know why. I look forward to the day when they are "all out of the house". But this feels different. So, final.
I'm not looking for any advice on how to deal. Just wanted to share that with the other parents that have the 'baby' stepping out, on their own for the first time.
I doesn't get easier.
