My son is a challenge, all by himself! Lately sleeping is the challenge...like, getting to sleep at night, staying asleep, sleeping past 5am....forget about nap time!

Discipline, now there's a challenge! Time outs only bring more frustration, spanking is pretty much out unless he's doing something dangerous (like putting a pot in the microwave, or lighting the stove!). Distraction doesn't work - he's into everything all at once anway!

He's got a bad case of the "No"s, and the "gimme"s, both of which drive me crazy. If I say one time "That's not how you ask for something", I say it a hundred times a day. I know we learn by repetition, but what's the freakin' magic number???

He would go through his entire wardrobe before getting dressed if I gave him a choice. So it's this shirt OR that shirt, and when both get an adamant NO, Mommy decides, with him screaming all the way.

He doesn't want to go to daycare, but when it's time to go home, he doesn't want to leave daycare! Going to the bank or the grocery store is fine, but forget going to Nana's.

Two choices for breakfast, but he wants marshmallows which was not an option. He asks for milk, then spits it back in the cup and wants grape juice!

Oh, it goes on and on.... Someone PLEASE tell me he'll turn into a human being at some point....

Wow, Im not alone!

Our challenge will start on Friday. My daughter is getting hearing aids. I am not sure how much of a challenge it will be but I am hoping they help her.

A Challenge . . . perhaps a blessing . . . Time will tell, eh?

My good friend has a son (also 2, nearly 3) and a baby (just over 1) that both need hearing aids (or as my 7 year old calls them, 'ear helpers'). How significant is your daughter's hearing problem? How are you holding up with this?

We don't know for sure. It's between mild and moderate but she may have nerve damage from the ear infections so we don't know if it is permanent loss. I have seen children who love wearing them since they hear better so we are optimistic.

With having 2 sets of twins in the house sometimes everything is a challange but the one I worry about the most is if I have given each one the equal of my time,dad takes them out of men time but me being mom that is always in the back of my mind.

WOW, 2 sets of twins . . . I can't imagine!

Can we ever ensure 'equal time' for our kids? I know I struggle with that and I only have 2 kids . . . not twins. I think the best we can do is to not worry so much about 'equal time', but focus on 'quality time'. Simply try to do whatever you can to make the best of each moment that you spend with each child.
