He sounds like a serial cheater...it is not a matter of believing in divorce...but rather believing in a quality life! And cheaters do not provide that, only stress, low self esteem, and hurt feelings! Take him to counseling or take him to court!

You did nothing wrong. I will repeat that. You did NOTHING wrong. I agree with Kartking1, he sounds like a serial cheater. He is not thinking of you when he does this he is only thinking of himself. Cheaters are very selfish people thinking only of themselves and what they want, not who they hurt or what they are doing to their spouse.

My X cheated 3 times in 24 years. I didn't believe in divorce either. He was the one that wanted out of the marriage to be with the OW. Even though I didn't want the divorce I am much better off alone than being with someone so selfish that he didn't care how much pain or stress he caused.

Your husband's straying may have nothing to do with you. In fact, some men (and women) have affairs because their partner is stable, reliable, and loving. People who haven't had good experiences with closeness early in their lives have no "template" in their heads to guide them when they enter a relationship. Intimacy, the sort of closeness that happens when the honeymoon period is over, scares them and they pull in another person to create distance and distract themselves from their fears, especially the fear of being vulnerable and letting one's inner self show. You may not believe in divorce but if your husband is unable or unwilling to admit his problems and commit to change, you will have a long, unhappy marriage, and if there are any kids, that is not the sort of home life you want to model for them.

I too have a serial cheater for a spouse. I have 2 kids that think this man walks on water. People who superficially know him think he is a great guy. I have opted to remain in the relationship for the time being because of the kids and financial reasons. We are separated physically but not legally. I have alot of anger and resentment about the whole cheating thing. Any advice?

Maybe he is taking you for granted because you are the "good wife and mother". Mix it up a bit - see what he does.

You personal sanity means more than anything else. Been there done that, I know it isn't easy but and walk away.
