I used to ask Qantas and other international pilots what was the most stunning scenery in the world, from the air.

Very surprisingly, the Afghanistan mountains was the winner. I have seen them at night and they're awesome. The runner up was the southern Andes mountains.

For down to earth scenery, the Australian state of Queensland's huge tropical coastline is very hard to beat. Even better are the tropical islands that dot the coast off the Queensland Great Barrier Reef.

I want to go.

Macchu Picchu was the most astounding place I have ever been. One of the most beautiful was Santorini.

so many places to chose from, but for me, one of the most spectacular places I've ever been to is halong bay in vietnam. wow.

on the boat we were on, many of us had the same comment... the place feels familiar, like a dream that we've all had... breath-taking rocks rising from calm waters. stunning.

Ah sigh..

I was in Bora Bora 3 years ago and loved it. It is indeed one of the most beautiful places in the world. I also love Santorini in Greece.
