I've been there 3 times now, totally about 2 years living in Chiang Mai. It's the most amazing place with the most amazing people. I can't wait to go back... Once you've been to Thailand, all you can think of is "when and how can I get back..." Some of my fondest memories
• NOT having a kitchen, so I don’t have to cook. Instead, we order Thai take away. About $3.00 feeds the family.
• NOT having a washer/dryer. I take our clothes to our friend Anne who does all our laundry. A few loads costs about $2.00.
• It only costs $2.50 to fill my bike up with gas.
• Riding with both kids on the bike, downhill... Wee haaaa!!!
• Going to the movies for $3
• Buying the same movie the next night at the Night Bazaar for $2
• A Sangsom Set (a bottle of whiskey, 4 cokes and a bucket of ice) at the bar for $8
• Custom made clothes for under $10
• Sushi from 7-11
• Our morning alarm clock... the temple bells & roosters
• Passing monks on our way to Starbucks
• Muay Thai Boxing
• Rickshaw rides
• Tesco Lotus - Thailand’s version of WalMart
• Setting off our own fireworks and Kome Loys at 3 Kings Plaza
• Our courtyard garden
• Afternoon walks down our Soi
• Tae Phae Gate
• The food stalls at the Sunday night market
• Thai massaaaaaaaaaaage.....
• The frog ladies
• The lady boys
• The elephant rides
• Happy Hour
• The treks
• The sunsets
• Just kickin’ it
• The waterfalls
• The temples
• The people
• Our friends...
