If you do get there, one thing to remember is to haggle with the vendor in the kasbah.

Normally, if they ask for 100 dollars they will accept 50.

No Morroco is all about the atmosphere...the drinking of mint tea, the orange juice in the medina, the ride in a horse and cart, or a trip to the mountains, its about the boys flirting with you because your blond and exotic, the smells the sights...I stay at a Riad owned by a Frenchman, he was a decorator in another life...before he ran away to Morocco, we awoke to opera, the smell of orange blossom...and a stunning room decorated in pinks and golds...its about being outside the normal....about Living!

I want to visit Marrakesh, Morocco. I read a few accounts of people who visited and subsequently, relocated there. I am looking into the best route to get there from California. It looks like it is easier/cheaper to fly to Europe first, and then fly there. Any suggestions?

Gee.....just when you thought that you were the only one to have such an offbeat dream!! I have been dreaming of going to Morocco my entire life and I have never even seen Casablanca! As a tour director....I have traveled extensively...but this is truly my dream vacation....it is something that I must do before I die, See you in Morocco!!
