I have a cousin who currently lives in Germany, and I will be visiting her in April. I plan on flying into Rome, doing the tourist thing there, taking a train north, and stopping in Venice then into Germany.

She & I will drive to Berlin and sightsee around there. I will then get back on the train to Paris on my own and fly home from there.

Any suggestions on where to stay or somewhere I should see that is not a usual tourist stop?
