Iowa here, anyone from this part of the country?

Michigan is pretty far away from MOST of the "mid-west." I think a more centrally-located place would be more representative of the "mid-west." Michigan is way out on the border of the mid-west.

Yep, but I live in Michigan, I'm organizing the meetups and this is the All About Michigan group. It was called Midwest meet-up so people from other states felt welcome to come. :) That does not preclude other states from organizing meetups - there's an Illinois group, for instance, who has organized a meetup.
