The Go Places/Meet People/Do Things Tour

I live in a travel trailer, and I know how to use it.

Last year my wife of 38 years died. So I gave away nearly everything we owned to family, friends, and charity. I bought a luxurious travel trailer, a monster truck to tow it, and a motorcycle to get around locally, and now I travel full time.

I'm always interested in suggestions about where to go, what to see, who to meet. I am currently in W. Virginia, heading for the Virginia and Carolina beaches. I'm turning west in December, with Lafayette, LA as one of my stops. NM and AZ from there, then north through UT, CO, WY, and MT. Then maybe east. Or maybe west.

I'll be watching for gatherings to attend, and looking for recommendations, advice, warnings, etc.

Well you definitely need to hang out here some and get to know some people, then plan to attend our convention in Kansas City in March (27-29.) See the TDB Convention group on this site for more info.

I would recommend Santa Fe as a stop -- great for a single traveler, especially since you can escape the high hotel rates. Most restaurants have community tables, most people are 50+, there is lots of free entertainment like browsing the many art galleries, concerts in the plaza.

Thanks - good idea. I was planning to go directly to Tucson from San Antonio, but a stopover in NM sounds like fun.

I'm going to be in Myrtle Beach, SC for November. Never been there before. Any tips on things to do, places to go, people to meet would be welcome.
