I absolutely love that part of the country and Zion and Bryce Canyon are so spectacular you couldn't pick a more breathtaking place to meet. I'm sure that some dates would be better than others for getting lower rates, airfares, etc. and avoiding being overrun by tourists. I was there in June, July and I think Sept. and it was great but pretty busy tourist-wise, especially June and July. Any interest/ideas?

That sounds spectacular to me. Where does one fly in to get there, Las Vegas, SLC? One more flight for me on Southwest between now and mid-April to earn a free ticket. My June is already pretty much booked up with conferences.

Salt Lake City is about 270 miles.
There are 2 regional airports within 50 (St. George)to 70 (Cedar City) miles with small commuter flight service but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're coming from close by, west of there or enjoy a nice bumpy ride. I hopped the flight out of Cedar City back to Hoston the last time I was out there because I didn't want to wait for or drive back for my Salt Lake City flight and it connects thru Denver and goes over the Rockies. Woo Hoo was that ever fun in a plane that seated maybe 8 people. lol
Maybe if enough people were interested a van or a couple vehicles could be rented in LV and then used to visit the parks too. Zion and Bryce aren't that far apart. Transportation will be a definite must out there.

Two places I definitely want to go!
We have an annual National Parks pass a since September we have been to Acadia National Park, Mammoth Cave Park and today and tomorrow we are at the Everglades NationalPark (lots of gators, gatorgal!) My hubby's favorite National park so far is Yellowstone. I loved Acadia with the Tetons running a close second. Each National Park is so unique. I love visiting them!

Gator Gal, I wouldn't mind driving from Salt Lake City. The University seems to trust me with undergrads in notoriously tippy 15-passenger vans (up the Old Spiral Highway even), so I should be an acceptable driver.
I'll hope I/we get to come and play, I've always wanted to see Bryce and Zion. Actually if I'm still here I could just drive down like we did going to Moab/Canyonlands. These days it's hard to say which is cheaper.
Just, please don't pick September for this event. Somehow I have to scrape together money for Oregon AND Wales.

Sounds good to me but I was just throwing out the idea for a location. Anyone live nearby or have preference for dates? Just seeing if there would be interest in this since I love the area so much.

I have a great idea, although I wouldn't plan this one. A houseboat trip on Lake Powell. We could get several house boats or just a few patio boats for the afternoon. Just thinking out loud.

That's a gorgeous area too. I love Glen Canyon, and Lake Powell and surroundings are spectacular. Could probably fly into Flagstaff about 130 miles away. Also,
there is a municipal airport in Page with service to and from Phoenix and Denver (Great Lakes air I think it was). So could book a flight into one of those and switch airlines to hop to Page where Lake Powell is. Oh and that would probably be an option for Bryce and Zion too. I think it was Great Lakes air that flies into the little municipal airports there too. Just don't try the flight from Denver unless you have an iron stomach lol.
Whatever everyone wants to do, I love that whole 4 corners area.
