Self-Esteem Issues and Sex

Quite a few of the threads in here allude to emotional abuse, low self-esteem and other psychological issues. One sexually connected effect is ED. I don't want to seem like I am calling anyone out. A good discussion about the matter can possibly open some eyes. Are there more? Does it have effects on libido? Does it ruin the sexual experience? I have seen some very attractive women in here post that they don't think they are attractive. I find that disheartening and unacceptable. Good sex, someone being truly desirous of us goes a long way in establishing good self-esteem in an adult (NO, its not the only thing but one of.) The better one feels about themselves the better they enjoy sex.

you got me, tony...but also i think you have described my other half there..i don't think he wants to have sex because his own self-esteem is low, and therefore low libido..

well yes..sounds crap and it is..i think they call it transferral or something..it's not physical yet but it's been pretty bad. he has some real issues from his past that he doesn't deal with..i have begged him to see a counselor for years but he won't. nothing more i can do - i have to think of me and mine...

It sounds like me and your both have a spouse that is not really interested in sex all that much.

I've, pretty much, been mentally abused by both husbands to the point that they no longer interested me physically. I've always ran with the girls "prettier" than me, so my self-esteem is usually in the toilet. I love this site because the "attention" brings my esteem back up and I sexy again. I suspect that's the case with many of us.
