I wouldn't do it even for a large sum of $$$$. I've heard that women have a higher threshold to tolerate pain so perhaps its not so bad.

Hey Brandy... I have never heard of anyone passing out from it, but I won't lie.... it does hurt the first few times. I do NOT recommend having any alcohol first... and DO take a pain reliever such as Tylenol or Advil about an hour before.

Some estheticians will apply a numbing spray to the area as well that helps a bit... but not much.

After the first few visits, it gets easier.... there is less hair to pull out and the hair that is there is thinner since it is new growth.

Lamaze breathing techniques help.... breathing out during the removal.... if you can get into sync with the esthetician, it makes it better... at least for me.

Some tips to finding a good spa:

Ask the esthetician if she gets waxed or has had it done... IMO, there is NO way she can appreciate what you're going through unless she's experienced it herself. Also ask if she uses hot wax or cold wax.

I prefer hot... it's applied, the material strip put on and then removed.... whereas cold wax is applied warm, allowed to cool and taken off with no material strip. I just find the hot is quicker and has a more thorough removal. Ask if she will go over the area with tweezers to get any that were missed.... I think this is important.... not every single hair can be gotten by waxing and this attention to detail is important.

Also, they should be doing EVERYTHING.... bikini, butt, down the thighs, everywhere. Don't be afraid to ask what areas are covered (or uncovered... lol) during a brazillian at their spa.

I've been going every 5 - 6 weeks for 10 years and now it's done and over in 40 minutes.

Yes, it's complete removal of pubic hair... some like to leave a little bit.... a "landing strip" as it's known.

Don't worry Carl, if she misses it, it will quickly grow back... lol... it's not permanent like laser hair removal.
