Hi.
Are there any Northern gardeners here? Being up here in MN having a garden is generally challenging - with a short growing season. Although, in the last several years, summers appear to have been getting longer by extending into September due to the issue of global warming (if I use the correct term?) At the moment, my main interest is flowers vs vegetables. Glad to be here. Looks like a nice group.

I'm a northern gardener. MN, SD and ND (we move a lot). Not an expert unless you count learning through trial and error (lol). Yes...I'm am eagerly awaiting global warming (it's a joke people). A growing season lasting longer then 3 months would be great!

(I like your screenname). Nice to meet you. Trial and error...works for me too. I can't forget the 96 degrees below zero (with wind chill factor)- when I was up in North Dakota one year. I can relate.
Lol, we should come up with frozen flower gardening. How to flash freeze your garden so it will look great all winter long...wait I may be on to something!

we have the opposite here....our winters here in AZ. are like others summer most of the time except for a few plant freezing days.....then you just get out the old sheets or those cute little tents someone came up with...and on the cactus they put cups so thew new tips won't freeze...
I thought the only thing in AZ you could grow was rocks. We used to spray paint our rocked front yard so it looked green.
