Should states lose their delegates (and thus their voice in who wins the primary elections) because they have changed the day of their elections?

Most media news will have you to believe their reporting to be true and to some extend they are. But, no NATIONAL delegates have yet been won yet in Florida. These delegates will be awarded between Feb. 6th and April 30th at the delegate selection caucuses. They will be sited in the national convention in Sept.

I was under the impression that the votes which people cast in those states will not count toward choosing a candidate. Am I wrong?
