Milt, this is a profoundly fascinating question. After some soul-searching, I cannot think of anything right off hand that would cause me to permanently leave it. Sure, the USA has its problems - what country doesn't? But I believe the system designed by the founders is the best ever conceived on the planet. Yes, we have deviated from that original design, but the essentials remain. Or could it just be that it is home? All of my ancestral lines have been here at least 150 years and some back to the 1600s. I also have a little Seneca blood from back around 1765. So the heritage of many generations might have something to do with it. In short, I have to say right or wrong, this is my country.

Great response. It gives a lot of food for thought. That's why I brought it up. I am not one of thoser "Amerika firsters" who would torture the vice president if the president said it would make the country safer but I am also not easily swayed from my commitment to this country that my family has been a part of since the mid-19th century. I would not march in lock step with the pinheads presently calling themselves our leaders but one of the wonders of this country is that, at most, after 8 years, you get to select a new team and that is in whichever party you vote for.
