Who/whom is one of those parts of language that is changing. Mostly because the whom form is pointless, always has been.

They're both collective (a pomposity of professors) or mass (furniture as opposed to chairs) nouns or phrases.

Fromz, actually I felt that machismo thing happening as I "read" your post and had a clear vision of you missing more than the silly rabbi did.
