When I divorced almost 10 years ago I felt relieved. No depression at all. I still don't even have too many ill feelings about him. I wish he had helped out financially in raising kids but then again I don't have to deal with any crap as many do when the ex sticks around but luckily my ex is not american he is Belgian and I have no clue what country he lives now.

I finally could look for someone that actually loved and desired me once divorced. I gotta say that dating sucked! No man is perfect and after dating several men (most of whom lied about wives or relationships) I finally found my current husband.

I love him dearly but we too have our issues. No one is perfect but having someone that wants a marriage to work as much as myself was well worth it all.

Call it starting over.

I feel the same as you we were not married but was my mate for life or so I thought,then diabetes took her.I was not relieved and was depressed.But I have moved on,so for it has been 4 years + this time.

I got married whan I was 21yrs.My xhusband had a addiction to alcohol. We had two children and our marriage was torn apart. I divorced him after 17yrs.It was the best thing for me and my children. I was awarded a lot so we made it just fine. Divorce sometimes is the only answer.

I felt free, fully alive - like i could finally breath. It's one of the best feeling in the world - i was alone but didn't feel lonely. All depression and anxiety left. I had tons of energy and a feeling that i could take on the world

I felt a since of loss because I had been married for 20 years but relieved to be free from playing mom to my ex. I don't know if I would marry again.

Girrrrrrrrrrl I was happier than a hooker in a motel with a rich man, it was wonderful for me to be finally free away from such a moma's boy and loser.

Don't ever marry again - i am on marriage number 3 and they were all a mistake.
